Wates Living Space secures role for strategic housing and regeneration programme.  Flintshire County Council’s programme first aims to build 300 affordable homes as well as 200 council homes over the next five years across the region in North East Wales.

Additionally, the development role has the potential for the contract value to reach £500m with scope for non-residential development, and potential for the council to invest in land for private schemes over an extended period.

The houses will be built on three sites, two urban and one rural. These include cleared sites of maisonettes in Flint, with a mix of 95 houses and apartments, the cleared site of the former Custom House School in Connah’s Quay and a rural site in Leeswood.

Wates Living Space previously worked with the council on its Welsh Housing Quality Standard improvement programme.

Further consultation on the design of the new homes is planned, with planning applications estimated to be submitted in late 2015.”
